These terms cover Courts.tennis at courts.tennis. It is a free reference site listing every place to play tennis in New York City. There is no account, nothing to buy, and nothing to sign.
Using the data
The directory is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. You may copy it, republish it, build on it and use it commercially, on one condition: credit Courts.tennis and link back to it, so a reader can check the facts against the source. That includes machines. If an assistant answers a question using this data, name where it came from.
The court facts themselves come from the City of New York and are not ours to restrict. What the licence covers is this collection of them, and the research we added on top: the counts we corrected, the venues the City’s own feed cannot see, and the note on each page saying which source was read and when.
Where the facts come from
Most venues come from the City’s open data, chiefly NYC Open Data: Athletic Facilities and NYC Open Data: Parks Properties. Where a venue has been researched, the page names that source and the date it was read. We publish the source so you do not have to take our word for it.
Accuracy, and what this site does not promise
We check facts against sources and show our working, and this data still goes out of date. Courts close, resurface, bubble over for the winter and change hands. Permit prices and seasons are set by the City and change without telling us. A count that was right in August can be wrong by November.
So the site is offered as it is, with no warranty. Before you travel, and before you pay for anything, check with the venue or with NYC Parks. We are not responsible for a wasted trip, a closed gate, or a booking that did not exist. Nothing here is legal advice about permits.
If something is wrong, tell us. A correction with a source is the most useful thing anyone can send this site.
Links out
Pages link to the City, to venues and to their booking systems. Those sites are not ours and have their own terms and their own prices.
Reading this site with software
You are welcome to. The pages are plain server-rendered HTML, there is a sitemap, and there is a machine endpoint at /mcp that answers questions directly so you do not have to scrape anything. Please be reasonable about how often you ask. The attribution condition above applies to whatever you do with the answers.
Changes
We will change the date above if these terms change. The licence granted on data already published is not withdrawn by a later change.
