Getting on a court

More than one way to get on a court here.

The department's Tennis Court Directory lists 6 courts here: 3 reservable and 3 walk-up. The 3 reservable courts are booked on the department's reservation site: most courts open for booking at 8:00 a.m. seven days ahead, some two days ahead at noon; one court a day and three a week per person. A reserved court left empty 15 minutes after the start time is open to walk-up play. The 3 walk-up courts need no booking: the department's walk-up rules say play is first come, first served, limited to one set (or 30 minutes of rallying), with the court given up at the end of the set when others are waiting.

“The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department offers some reservable courts and some walk-up courts.”
