Play where the Olympians played
Ariake Tennis Park opened in 1983. Tokyo's government readied it as the tennis venue for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and for wheelchair tennis at the Paralympics. Today its courts take bookings like any other metropolitan park's.

Register first. People whose address is outside Tokyo can register too, Tokyo's government says.
Registering online needs a phone that can receive SMS. Without one, register at the counter of a metropolitan park that has sports facilities, with ID. We could not find out whether a foreign phone number or a passport works.

How booking works here
One system books every court on this page. A lottery comes first: entries are taken from the 1st to the 10th of the month before. From the 22nd of the month before, free slots are booked first come, first served. There is no same-day booking at the counter. On the day, show your registration card and ID at the counter at least 15 minutes before your start time.
When to go
Plan a month out. The lottery takes the first slots, and what is left opens from the 22nd of the month before.
Want to play after dark? 12 of the 16 places on our list have lights on record. Each venue page shows its hours, and some change with the season.

How we checked
Every fact on this page comes from Tokyo's metropolitan government: its parks guide, its open data, and its own account of the Olympic venue (東京都財務局出典). Each venue page shows the source and the date we read it. We do not review courts and we have not played them for you. If something here is wrong, the source changed after we read it. Tell us.
