Vanderbilt Tennis Club
15 Vanderbilt Ave, 4th Floor
Inside Grand Central Terminal, on the fourth floor at 15 Vanderbilt Avenue, with one regulation court plus a junior court and two practice courts with ball machines. Open to the public rather than members only. The space was an art gallery and then a CBS recording studio before a Hungarian immigrant took it over in 1966 and put in a 65-foot astroturf ski slope and two tennis courts.

Getting on a court
Not one of the City’s permit courts, so a Parks tennis permit is not what gets you on. Access is on the venue’s own terms: check with them before travelling.
